NOWADAYS PERSONAL DATA IS A COMMODITY. I really really hate the direction that the internet's moving in. I think personal data is alright to trade if the user has willingly shared it. If you're alright with random people seeing it, you have to be alright with corporations using it against you. That's nothing personal, that's just business. I get it.
And that used to be the case for a while. But nowadays, corporations (social media) are tracking your every move. Everything you do is logged and sold. Things you willingly share, and things that ought not be known by random people, they're all sold as data linked to you, the individual. That's really not fucking ok.
And That's Why... This website.
Social media will snoop on you and on your every move. This website won't, not for me and not for you. Why would I want to know what you're doing on your phone all the time, all day and every day? I simply don't care. And corporations should really have that attitude. It's a bit creepy.
Heck, I've had to STOP using WordPress for my blog because those guys have a "cookie consent" and a "privacy policy" which just means Hi I'm going to steal all your data and you're going to be alright with it, even though you're also paying for this.
So I apologise if this website looks like it came straight out of the 90s. I could have done a much better job of making this website look nicer. But this gets the job done, AND I'm about to get to my second point.
Websites nowadays are way too bloated
Most of today's websites deserve the name Fatty McFatface. There once was a time when you only used this name on people, people who you'd see approach the lift and you whisper "oh damn" to your friend.
Even the simplest of bllog sites nowadays are absolutely bloated full of icons and buttons and social-media share links that are absolutely not required in your website. And I think websites with floating menu bars that get in your face when you're trying to navigate the content should have a special place to burn in hell.
Something like FaceBook is just absolute madness nowadays. It takes a few seconds to load even on a high-speed broadband internet connection. Gone were the days where FaceBook was once a lightweight website free of the millions of tracking scripts to dote on your every mouse move.
Anyway, I'll stop myself from rambling on. I could write for days about the sad state of the internet nowadays. Hell, I'll give you a lecture about it if you want to hear about it. For free! Just ask me. I could talk about the dilapidating state of the once glorious internet and that disgusting bullshit called AI all day.
Ok, gotta go before my readers fall asleep!
