It is FRICKIN' hot and humid in Bangkok. And I really don't appreciate the heat and the sweat, yet somehow I still enjoy gardening incredibly. I used to not like the outdoors, and now I still don't. But somehow tending to the bushes and the flowers is alright. It's more than alright, it's Fun! Incredibly fun and enjoyable experience.
My family like the garden to look nice. And so do I. But most look-nice flowers and plants aren't edible, and that's where I differ. I like my garden to include things that I can eat. I love food. And so I like to have a garden balancing between look-nice and good-to-eat. Actually, much easier said than done, because most of the look-nice plants don't like the same living conditions as the good-to-eat plants.
My garden is predominantly shaded, which most of the look-nice plants like (maybe except for the big flowering plants, which would like to get some sunlight to bloom), and so most of the garden I should allocate to the aesthetically pleasing plants (see - a much better word than 'look-nice' haha!). I will likely build a greenhouse, or concrete up the sunlit area (which is a little hidden bit anyway) and make some planters.
